President Mwai Kibaki has prorogued parliament with effect from today February 27th, 2009.

The prorogation is contained in a legal notice of today February 27th, 2009.

"In exercise of powers conferred by section 59(1) of the constitution of Kenya, I prorogue parliament with effect from 27.02.09", President Kibaki said in a signed proclamation.
