Nakumatt fire Victims condoled

President Mwai Kibaki today afternoon visited the smoldering ruins of the Nakumatt supermarket in Nairobi that was razed down by fire on Wednesday afternoon and condoled relatives of those who lost their loved ones.

The President who was accompanied by the Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, several legislators and the Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet Amb.Francis Muthaura was briefed on the tragedy and rescue efforts by the Commissioner of Police Hussien Ali.

President Kibaki in a brief address at the scene, consoled victims of the fire disaster and pledged Government support to Kenyans affected by the tragedy.

The Head of State challenged Kenyans to support victims of the Nakumatt fire that claimed several lives and property worth millions of shillings destroyed.
