President Kibaki arrives in Eygpt for the AU Summit

President Mwai Kibaki arrived in Sharm-El Sheikh, Egypt to attend the 11th Ordinary Session of the African Union Heads of State Assembly.

The plane carrying President Kibaki and his entourage touched down at Sharm-El Sheikh International Airport shortly after 5.00 p.m.

The President was received at the airport by the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Ahmed Nasir, the Kenyan envoy to Egypt Amb. Daniel Makdwallo and other senior officials of the Egyptian Government.

The theme of the summit is 'Meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on Water and Sanitation'.
